Success made in anti-corrosion test of LY Steel rebar
Recently, LY Steel organized the summing-up meeting of rebar anti-corrosion test and decided to apply to No.1 bar mill in large volume and promote to No.2 the on-line rebar anti-corrosion technology, which indicates the success of rebar anti-corrosion test through one plus years.
Since the beginning of last year, LY Steel has fully adopted cooling control technology to cut the cost of rebar production but encountered the problem of easy corrosion. Hence, LY Steel decided to conduct the test of anti-corrosion to safeguard the market reputation of Shuangling rebar. After many small-volume tests, from January 20th-23rd of this year the on-line tests had been done with No.1 Bar mill and the products delivered to customers for trial use.
On March 10th, an investigation was made into market on anti-corrosion effects. Through observation of pictures taken at site and feedback from customers, with 49 days of exposure under open-air conditions, the treated rebar had few spot rust or almost no rust while rebar without anti-corrosion treatment suffered quite severe rust. The comparison results prove that the on-line anti-rust test is successful.
